Stone Cross Mansion is located in the thriving market town of Ulverston, Cumbria. The town was stablished over 700 years ago in 1280, located on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park.
Only a mile and a half from the seaside at Morecambe Bay, and 9 miles from Lake Windermere.

Travel & Directions
Ulverston Train Station, Station Approach, Off Princess Street, Ulverston, Cumbria, LA12 ODP is less half mile or a 7-minute walk via the Daltongate pedestrian entrance to Stone Cross Mansion or 0.7 of a mile walk via the main road and up Stone Cross Mansion’s tree lined drive. Ulverston Train Station is on the Furness Line and connects Ulverston to Lancaster, Preston, Manchester and Manchester Airport.
By Road
From Exit 36 of the M6 take the A590 West towards Barrow-On-Furness (mainly dual carriageway) and stay on the A590 until you reach Ulverston. At Ulverston follow the A590 through town and before you leave Ulverston you will see a new shopping development with an M&S on your left at a major set of traffic lights.
At these lights turn right at the right hand turn filter lane and you will see the original Stone Cross Mansion Coach House in front of you at the top of Daltongate with stone gate pillars to it’s left. Drive between these stone pillars and straight ahead up the tree lined drive and you will arrive at Stone Cross Mansion.
With free parking for over forty cars, there is ample space for you on the gravelled drive way.
Car Parking & Bicycles
Each house, duplex or apartment at Stone Cross Mansion is allocated two parking spaces in front of the building. The four dog friendly apartments with their own exterior entrances have their own block paved parking area in front of their entrance patios. A galvanized steel bicycle rack is located outside the main building, to the side of the garden store and refuse building for guest use.
We do ask for bicycles to be kept outside, and not brought or stored inside the main Mansion or any of the individual accommodations.
